Co-Productions

International co-productions with Australia, such as ‘Green Card’, ‘Opal Dream’, ‘The Proposition’, ‘Gone’ and ‘Black & White’, and TV drama series ‘The Saddle Club’, ‘Mary Bryant’ and ‘Foreign Exchange’, have all taken advantage of the many benefits of shooting in and co-financing with Australia.

Australia has official co-production arrangements with Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, New Zealand, Italy, Israel - and negotiations are in progress with China, Singapore and South Africa. The process is administered by the Australian Film Commission (AFC), which has developed clear and systematic guidelines to guide you through the process.

Ausfilm’s Co-Production Factsheet sets out the key points you will need to consider if you think a co-production structure is an option for your project. Click here to download.
