Federal Lands
Modelled on elements of the Government structures of the USA, UK and Canada, Australia has three tiers of Government: Federal, State/Territory and Local.
The Federal Government, which sits at the top, is responsible for the countrys monetary and foreign policy, and other national issues such as defence, immigration, quarantine, customs and indigenous affairs.
As a result, large parts of the country come under the control of the Federal Government. Ausfilm has developed a series of factsheets that deal with screen production on Federal lands that can be downloaded by clicking on the links below:

Australia prides itself on being a film-friendly country, and many parts of the Federal public service have developed guidelines for screen production.
Ausfilm convenes the Federal Film-Friendly Forum (FFFF), which meets twice yearly. Comprising representatives from Federal departments and agencies capable of impacting on the decision to facilitate or locate internationally-mobile footloose production and/or PDV in Australia, the FFFF is kept up to date on developments in the sector, and can receive early warning of major productions coming to Australia.
