NETFLIX ORIGINALS’ TIDELANDS SHOOTING IN QUEENSLAND WITH BRISBANE-BASED HOODLUM

Production of the supernatural crime drama series Tidelands continues in South East Queensland, developed and produced by Brisbane-based production house Hoodlum Entertainment.

Tidelands is the first Netflix Original drama series to be made in Australia and produced by Hoodlum’s Tracey Robertson and Nathan Mayfield with co-creators and writers Leigh McGrath Stephen M. Irwin.

The eight-episode series has been a direct outcome of the Queensland Government’s $50 million Production Attraction Strategy.

The stellar ensemble cast includes Elsa Pataky (The Fast and the Furious franchise), Peter O’Brien (X-men Origins: Wolverine), Charlotte Best (Home and Away, Puberty Blues), Aaron Jakubenko (The Shannara Chronicles, Spartacus: War of the Damned), Mattias Inwood (Will), Dalip Sondhi (Pulse), Caroline Brazier (Rake, Offspring) and Madeleine Madden (Picnic at Hanging Rock).

Post-production will also take place in Queensland.

About Tidelands:

Tidelands follows Cal McTeer, a young woman who returns home to the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay after ten years in juvenile detention. But her hometown is shrouded in mysteries, the greatest of which is the commune of outcasts who live in a hidden pocket of the bay: the Tidelanders.
