NEW SOUTH WALES TV SHOW DOCTOR DOCTOR SIGNS INTERNATIONAL DEAL WITH UKTV

Fantastic news for Sydney-based production company Easy Tiger, after the international arm of FremantleMedia (the company’s majority stakeholder), announced that it has sold the first two seasons of NSW-based show Doctor Doctor to UKTV, the UK’s biggest multi-channel network.

The Create NSW-supported Nine Network show, stars Rodger Corser as high-flying heart surgeon Dr Hugh Knight who receives a life-changing punishment from the Medical Tribunal, forcing him to work for a year as a country GP in his former hometown of Whyhope.

The third season is due to start shooting late April 2018.The show is produced by Ian Collie, Claudia Karvan and Tony McNamara, with a cast that includes Nicole da Silva, Ryan Johnson, Tina Bursill and Steve Bisley. NSW filming locations for the show include Mudgee (which doubles for Whyhope), Camden and Rozelle.

Doctor Doctor will premiere as The Heart Guy on UKTV channel Drama on 5 April 2018.
