Director Stephan Elliott (Easy Virtue, Eye of the Beholder, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert) this week commenced shooting his new feature film A Few Best Men in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He will shoot on location in Sydney and then in the picturesque Blue Mountains just west of the city. Elliot describes the comedy as his take on “a hugely successful emerging genre – wedding movies for boys. The girls get the big day. The boys get to sabotage it.”
A destination wedding gone totally wrong A Few Best Men was written by Death at a Funeral‘s Dean Craig and is being produced by Arclight’s Gary Hamilton (Salvation Boulevard, Romulus My Father, Merchant of Venice, The Bank Job), the producing team of Share Stallings (Death at a Funeral, Curious George 2, Curious George TV Series, The Reality Trap) and Laurence Malkin (Death at a Funeral, Five Fingers, Soul Assassin, Caffeine), and Antonia Barnard (Last Ride, The Painted Veil). It stars some of Australia’s best-loved actors, including Xavier Samuel (Twilight: Eclipse, Bait, Anonymous, 2:37) and Olivia Newton-John as well as British actor Kris Marshall (Death At A Funeral, Easy Virtue, Merchant of Venice, Love Actually).
Incentives from the New South Wales (NSW) Government’s Film and Television Attraction Fund and the NSW Regional Film Fund helped secure the project for NSW. For further information visit www.FilmInSydney.com
