South Australian Film Corporation

Celebrating 40 years of Independent Filmmaking in 2012

For 40 years the South Australian Film Corporation has been bringing our state’s passion and professionalism for film and television production to the attention of content producers worldwide.

Over this period the state has hosted hundreds of film and television projects, including Australian classics such as Breaker Morant, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Shine, internationally renowned television series McLeod’s Daughters, cult favourites Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Priscilla Queen of the Desert plus box office successes Wolf Creek and more recently Red Dog, to name just a few.

The state’s hard-earned reputation as Australia’s home of independent filmmaking has been built on its stunning and accessible locations, professional crews, and a collaborative, tailored approach working hand in hand with producers to package our states assets and incentives to meet your unique project needs.

Opened in mid-2011, our new home at Adelaide Studios features purpose built production and post-production facilities including sound stages, production offices, 96-seat screening theatre and Dolby Premier Studio. That means everything under one roof, as well as easy access to South Australia’s world renowned post production and visual effects businesses.

Now more than ever, South Australia offers you a production destination that can deliver at every stage of the filmmaking process.

We trust that our track record in supporting creative excellence in film and television production in Australia over many years, and our investment in the future of the sector through Adelaide Studios, will have you looking south for your next production.

Testimonials:

“South Australia always looked like a perfect fit for Tracks, with its amazing locations, great crews and world class production facilities at the Adelaide Studios. But having shot Oranges and Sunshine here so recently and having experienced the incredibly film friendly atmosphere and collaborative approach of the state, mean’t that it was never really in doubt.”

Emile Sherman, See-Saw Films

“After visiting every film studio in Australia, it is clear to me that the level of quality and design that was put into Adelaide Studios is first class! It is a one stop shop and among the finest studios in all of Australia! I look forward to bringing many a film to shoot at the studios in Adelaide.”
