Adelaide Studios wins National AIA Award

Grieve Gillett and Cox Richardson (architects by association) have won the National AIA Award for Commercial Architecture for the South Australian Film Corporation’s new Adelaide Studios. The award was presented at the National AIA Awards night held at the Midland Railway Workshops in Perth earlier this month.

The award follows on from the Keith Neighbour Award for Commercial Architecture the architect’s won earlier this year at the AIA’s South Australian Architecture Awards, where Adelaide Studios also received two commendations in the ‘interior architecture’ and ‘heritage’ categories.  As Australia’s peak body for the architectural profession, the awards are the most prestigious in the design and construction industry.

Along with its Dolby Premier accreditation, achieved earlier this year, the architecture awards add to the accolades Adelaide Studios has received since it opened for business in August 2011.  A little over twelve months later Adelaide Studios boasts full occupancy with 25 local film and television businesses co-located on site and production facilities booked through to July 2013.

Visit www.adelaidestudios.com.au for more information or contact SAFC Studio & Production Services Manager, Jo Mulcahy on +61 (8) 8394 2000 or email [email protected] to discuss making your next project at Adelaide Studios.
