Ausfilm Member Notice

Dear Members

As you may have noticed, there has been some media around the call to increase the Location Offset, a major policy objective for Ausfilm. There is also a level of exaggeration and speculation in relation to the timing and progress of some of the international features mentioned. Included below are links to various articles for your information only.

However, please note that last week (the end of the current sitting period), Ausfilm was in Canberra again meeting with relevant Ministerial advisers, departmental officers and federal parliamentarians about the importance of increasing the Location Offset to 30%. While Ausfilm has had a fair hearing with all parties (Government, Coalition and Greens), and all agree the current 16.5% is not working, there is still no decision to increase the Location Offset.

There is also no decision on further consideration of any one-off grants similar to The Wolverine. Ausfilm will update members in relation to such consideration as a matter of course.

Regards,

Debra Richards
CEO
