Emerging Brisbane-based producer, Lauren Brown has been named the recipient of the 2017 Animal Logic Entertainment and Village Roadshow Internship!

When asked what the internship means to her, she says:
“the Village Roadshow Animal Logic Internship is such a rare program and I’ve applied for it three times now because it’s an opportunity that just can’t be passed up.”

She further adds, “for an emerging producer like myself, it’s really the best internship there is because it provides such an incredible opportunity to be in Los Angeles working with two amazing companies, whilst also getting some really great support while I’m there.” More importantly, “the focus of the internship is really about creative development, an area that I am particularly interested in as a producer.”

The 3-month internship will see Lauren working at both Village Roadshow as well as Animal Logic Entertainment offices in the USA. With a few weeks already under her belt, we asked Lauren what it’s been like.

“My week is split between Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and Animal Logic, and on a daily basis I get to see how projects are developed, acquired, packaged, and produced for the international market. In the office I get to learn about the current slate of projects that AL are working on and be part of daily catch up sessions between the LA and Sydney teams. I also spend a lot of time doing script coverage on projects that are coming in and discussing those projects with the team. I am learning a lot simply by observing how the AL team work, and that’s a really great opportunity in itself.”
