South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) CEO, Courtney Gibson is leaving the SA government screen agency to return to Sydney, having ushered in a period of unprecedented growth and production activity in South Australia and at Adelaide Studios.

In her time as CEO, Gibson has established South Australia as one of Australia’s major production destinations with features such as the New Line/Warner Bros. blockbuster Mortal Kombat, the Tim Minchin/Lingo Pictures series Upright, Cate Blanchett’s Filthy Pictures/Matchbox TV series Stateless and The Hunting by Closer Productions.

“I’m proud of everything the SAFC, the Adelaide Studios team and the whole SA screen sector has achieved during my time here. I thank them all, along with our local and international partners, including the wonderful team at Ausfilm. The state is established as one of Australia’s major national and international production destinations and with the local industry steered into primetime TV drama alongside film and other screen entertainment, the path is clear for a new CEO to take up the reins.”
