WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TRAVELLING IN AND OUT OF AUSTRALIA

Latest information regarding COVID-19 in Australia

From 9 September 2022, masks are no longer required on flights travelling to Australia.​

Travelling guidelines in and out of Australia have eased:

  • People entering Australia do not need to provide evidence of vaccination status
  • People entering Australia do not need to complete the Digital Passenger Declaration or Maritime Travel Declaration
  • People leaving Australia will not be asked to provide evidence of their vaccination status
  • Unvaccinated visa holders do not​ need a travel exemption to travel to Australia.
  • From 9 September 2022, masks are no longer required on flights travelling to Australia.​

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL BORDER

The Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force provide advice for people seeking to enter or leave Australia.

STATE AND T​ERRITORY INFORMATION

Each state and territory in Australia has its own requirements that you will need to comply with. If you are planning to travel to Australia, you should check the requirements of the state or territory you are travelling to. Requirements could include COVID-19 testing after you arrive in Australia or vaccination requirements to visit certain venues or work in certain occupations.

AUSTRALIAN SCREEN PRODUCTION INDUSTRY COVID-SAFE GUIDELINES

The guidelines on COVID- safe industry protocols are updated regularly. Access the Guidelines here.

The Guidelines detail any mandatory controls, informed by the latest government medical advice and State Work, Health & Safety legislation, whilst also detailing any relevant department-by-department ranges of control measures that individual productions can draw on to create their own COVID-Safe plan. These factors may include: guidance on the number of people on set, shooting in close proximity, use of personal protective equipment, hygiene control measures, medical advice, and travel and transport.

AUSTRALIA’S VACCINATION PROGRAM

Everyone in Australia can get a COVID-19 vaccine free of charge. International travellers who arrive into Australia are encouraged to access Australia’s COVID-19 vaccination program.

AUSTRALIAN SCREEN PRODUCTION INCENTIVES

The Government remains committed to securing a long-term pipeline of international production to Australia. That includes physical production, visual effects, digital animation and post-production.

The Location Offset and Location Incentive programs and the PDV Offset continue to operate as usual and the Screen Industry team within the Office of the Arts (Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications) is continuing to receive and process applications.
