BIGGEST CHALLENGES?

Working with tighter budgets and tighter schedules whilst striving to get the best product possible. The technology innovation is both an opportunity and a challenge – keeping up to date with technology is essential.

TRENDS?

The  increase in high-end TV drama and the rise of online series is creating new opportunities for the sector.  High-end technology is becoming more cost effective and allowing mid-budget independent productions to achieve exceptional production values.

Also the capacity and ease of collaboration across national and international means you can utilise the Adelaide Studio’s Dolby Premier Mixing Theatre and full post sound facility regardless of where you shoot.

WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT AUSTRALIA?

World class facilities working with passionate and committed people who go above and beyond to present the best on screen.  At Adelaide Studios we have combined full post sound facilities, sound stages and production offices under one roof within minutes of the CDB (or you can be at a winery or on the beach within minutes of leaving the studio), with a low production cost and high quality of life make South Australia a unique filmmaker’s paradise.

WHO ARE THE CREATIVE TEAMS YOU HAVE WORKED WITH?

We have collaborated with production companies and creative teams from Matchbox Pictures, Screentime, Kojo Productions, Song Zu, Huzzah Sound, Spectrum Films and Farmgroup UK.

Some of Australia’s best mixers, sound designers and post supervisors have worked at the Adelaide Studios facility including Pete Smith (Ali’s Wedding, The Darkness), Paul Pirola (Wolf Creek 2), Phil Heywood (10000 Years Later),  Tom Heuzenroeder (Wolf Creek TV, Charlie’s Country), Robert McKenzie (All This Mayhem) and David Birrell (Wolf Creek TV).
