WHAT KOJO’S WORKING ON!

Since early March the KOJO team nationally was set up with remote workstations at home as social distancing measures came into effect.

Moving the team to a remote working environment was quite straight forward as KOJO’s business is remotely connected between four Australian offices.

Editors, colourists and VFX artists all have full toolsets built at their homes, so the quality of work has not changed, all artists are connected via secure VPN into their central server.

Whilst the global shutdown of production has made an impact on several projects KOJO was about to commence working on, they are fortunate that New Line Cinemas Mortal Kombat continues towards delivery later in 2020.

KOJO was the post-production studio for the film during production with the film’s post team located in KOJO’s Adelaide post-production studio and their team supplying the edit suites and KOJO’s colourist Marty Pepper colour grading the dailies for the entire film during production.

In the coming weeks, KOJO’s VFX team will begin work on a slate of shots on Mortal Kombat that will keep the team busy during the COVID-19 shutdown and recovery.

KOJO has also just wrapped up post work on a long-form documentary called Catherine’s Kindergarten where the studio delivered the final 2K conform, online finishing, sound mix and mastering.

KOJO has also completed work for world-renowned animation studio ANIFEX on their film Better Angels. KOJO’s work included 50 5K VFX shots on the stop-frame animated short film.

KOJO has commenced work on an exciting large format LED screen installation for a major building development that will see KOJO create a range of animated, motion graphics and CGI short films that will play a starring role in the customer journey in the building foyer. KOJO will bring artists together from across our national studios to build these films that will run huge LED screens from the building launch later this year.

Despite the current COVID-19 challenges the KOJO team has adapted well to the new normal and they are looking forward to working with their global clients again soon.
