Framestore’s Elvis Work Recognised With VFX Award

Framestore’s Melbourne team, led by VFX Supervisor Josh Simmonds, has garnered further accolades for their work on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, winning the WYSIWYG 3D Design for a Digital Production or Performance Award at the 2023 Australian Production Designer Guild Awards.

The ceremony, held in Melbourne on 26 August, brings together professionals from the Australian live performance, film, television and interactive multimedia industries each year, to honour the outstanding achievements and craft of local Australian creators.

“The Framestore team was honoured to be recognised by the APDG for our work on Beale Street and Russwood Park in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis,” says Simmonds of the win. “It was a true collaboration across departments, and a treat to have such gorgeous production design and cinematography to work with.”

“Many thanks to Tom Wood and Fiona Crawford for their guidance, and respect to the other VFX vendors for their seamless work on the film.”
