CATO head North for Jaggi Entertainment’s Love Is In The Air

At the beginning of the year, the CATO team headed to sunny Far North Queensland for Jaggi Entertainment’s Love Is In The Air, which recently debuted as the number one streamed movie globally on Netflix during the week of its release.

Starring Delta Goodrem and Joshua Sasse, the romantic feature was filmed over one month with a 40-person crew. Created completely in Queensland, the production was supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland.

Love is in the Air will generate approximately $2.25 million for the state economy and 70 jobs for Queensland cast and crew,” said former Screen Queensland CEO Courtney Gibson at the time.

With filming taking place in remote locations such as Airlie Beach, Dingo Beach and Sinclair Bay, the CATO unit team tackled numerous challenging setups during the film’s production. One scene shot at Sinclair Bay required a unit setup right on the beach, which was accessible only via a dirt track. With over three kilometres of secluded beach surrounding set, the CATO team helped to ferry cast and crew members back and forth from location.

The rest of the shooting took place predominantly in the Whitsundays. Audiences will be able to spot multiple recognisable locations in the film, such as the Whitsundays Airport which became ‘Fullerton Airways’. CATO’s The Dressing Room was parked up on the runway and used as a VIP green room, makeup and wardrobe trailer for the film’s stars, Goodrem and Sasse.

Love Is In The Air is the 14th production which CATO and Jaggi Entertainment have collaborated on. Over two decades ago, Managing Director Kieran Cato worked his first job in the industry alongside Steve Jaggi, CEO of Jaggi Entertainment, in the UK. During filming for Love Is In The Air, Kieran spent time on set with his unit team and helped to oversee some safety aspects of the film. CATO is proud to have been a Climate Active carbon neutral certified organisation at the time of filming.

Love Is In The Air is available to stream on Netflix now.
