SCIENTISTS USE HELIGUY’S CUSTOM DRONE TECHNOLOGY TO COLLECT SAMPLES OF HUMPBACK WHALE SNOT

Australia’s east coast is known as the Humpback Whale Highway. Follow scientists as they try and capture samples of whale snot using a truly unique method: drones, with Ausfilm Member: Heliguy

It’s not often Ausfilm covers scientific research, however, this story almost borders on the surreal, and worth sharing.

Heliguy’s Alastair Smith operates the custom-built drone with adept and swift capabilities in order to collect the spouting mist from a selection of whales. The collected samples can then be investigated in the lab to detect bacteria and the presence of any viruses.
