SCREEN NSW RETURNS

Grainne Brunsdon appointed to lead screen operations for New South Wales.

Grainne Brunsdon has been appointed Head of Screen NSW in a new role that builds upon success in promoting New South Wales (NSW) as Australia’s leading state for film and TV production and the location of choice for international and local production and post-production.

Screen NSW operates as part of the NSW State Government’s Sydney-based arts, screen and culture agency, Create NSW.

Grainne has more than 20 years’ experience working in the creative industries. In addition to previous roles at Screen NSW and Arts NSW, she has worked in leadership positions in international cultural relations with the British Council, with arts organisations in Sydney and has taught design studies at tertiary level.

Grainne Brunsdon said, “The Screen NSW name holds international strength and after recent high profile wins, our ambitious team is certainly not resting on its laurels in attracting new interest to our talent-rich state.

Penguin Bloom has just wrapped in Sydney, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in pre-production at Fox Studios Australia and Thor: Love & Thunder is confirmed to shoot straight after that – and Marvel has begun recruiting for their Marvel training academy. Add to this our new 10% PDV rebate, which went live on 1st October, we’re making it even more attractive to base here for either production or post.

“I know that a number of people in the industry met my predecessor Elizabeth W. Scott in LA last year, and I’m glad you will have met members of my team again this year as we forge new relationships and opportunities for filming across NSW. It’s a really exciting time and there’s a lot more being tied up as we speak, as you can imagine!”

Screen NSW offers a range of development and production support programs for film and television projects; incentives to attract footloose production and post-production to NSW, and offers location and production liaison services to eligible productions considering locating in the state.
