SECOND ANNUAL AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL SCREEN FORUM



The second annual Australian International Screen Forum at Lincoln Center recently announced its 2019 program.

Showcasing groundbreaking new Australian content, workshops with leading film industry mentors, and heralding exciting homegrown filmmakers, the event is set to take place in New York City, 19 -22 March this year.

 Jennifer Kent’s The Nightingale was chosen as the opening night film with Wayne Blair’s Sundance hit Top End Wedding closing out the 4-day event. A major centrepiece event is the 25th Anniversary Screening of Muriel’s Wedding, with members of the cast in attendance led by star Toni Collette.   

Ladies in Black from director Bruce Beresford and Jill Bilcock: Dancing the Invisible will also screen as part of the program that comprises high profile keynotes and discussions such as with producer  Jason Blum, director Bruce Beresford, editor Jill Bilcock in conversation with Baz Luhrmann and NCIS showrunner Shane Brennan.

Additionally, the Industry Sessions, which are produced in partnership with Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin, include topics ranging from Financing to Audience Development, Casting and Creative Relationships and Festivals & Markets, with a specific focus on international independent feature film and television production. Sessions such as Equity Financing: Meet the Gatekeepers, Using US Festivals for Financing, case studies from event partners HBO and NBC and Baz Luhrmann’s Pitch Royale Competition for both Australian and US delegates are part of this exciting lineup.

Partners include the Chris and Francesca Beale Foundation, Screen Australia, Ausfilm, Qantas, NBC, HBO, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz and the Australian-Consulate New York.
