The uncapped Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) rebate from the SAFC provides a rebate of 10% of South Australian post expenditure, mirroring the Australian Federal Government’s PDV Offset of 30%. Combined, the 40% rebate on spend in the state to international film producers is unmatched anywhere in the country.
South Australia now combines the skill and expertise of world-class post-production houses and facilities with Australia’s most competitive PDV rebate scheme, a drawcard destined to add significant projects to the credit list that already boasts Thor: Ragnarok, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Tomb Raider.
Noted South Australian PDV vendors include:
South Australia’s state-of-the-art purpose-built facilities include the Adelaide Studios’ Dolby premier mixing studio, one of 21 in the world and only two in Australia. The Adelaide Studios facilities attract companies and productions from around the country and across the globe.
The Adelaide Studios are currently hosting Anthony Maras’ highly anticipated feature Hotel Mumbai. Recent credits include Warwick Thornton’s multi-award winning Sweet Country and the Aussie Box Office hit Ali’s Wedding.
Acting SAFC CEO Adam Smith said
‘This rebate aims to provide a clear, certain and streamlined process to make South Australia one of the world’s most attractive destinations for VFX work.’
